DORSETSHIRE, Shaftesbury, John Boxer's shilling, 1811, military bust left/legend (D.16) struck in brass. Stained, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very rare.

Ex W.J.Noble Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 58B (lot 1659), and purchased from Spink in 1975 for twenty pounds with tickets.

These issues have been re-assigned to Folkestone in Kent (see R. Thompson BNJ 1972).
