SICILY, Syracuse, Fifth democracy, (214-212 B.C.), silver eight litrai, (7.10 g), obv. head of Athena to left wearing single pendant earring, necklace, aegis and crested Corinthian helmet decorated with a griffin flying on the bowl, rev. winged thunderbolt, **SURAKOSION* above, YA / **S* in two lines below, (S.1000, Burnett The Enna Hoard in SNR 62 [1983] 28 (dies 10/D); SNG Lockett 1023, BMC 656. SNG Cop. 880, HGC 2, 1414). Minor die rust on obverse, lightly toned, otherwise extremely fine and rare.
