GROUP OF FOUR: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; Royal Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (GVR - non-swivelling bar). O.N.223279 C.C.Crane. Yeo.of.Sigs. on first medal, 223279 C.C.Crane. Y.S. R.N. on second and third medals, 223279. C.C.Crane, Ch. Yeo. Sigs. H.M.A.S.Australia. on last medal. All medals impressed but the first three appear to have some engraved adjustments to number and last medal number is weak on last two numerals due to heavy contact marks. Swing mounted, contact marks and toned, otherwise very fine.

Family member claimed that the abovenamed was lost at sea in the 1920s but no record of such loss can be found.

Clarence Claude Crane, born 13Aug1887 at Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, England; lent from Royal Navy 01Mar1912, Official number 5017; wife's address at Paddington, Sydney, NSW; various postings with RAN including Tingira, Australia, Sydney, Swan, Brisbane, London Depot and also to Royal Navy 04Apr-16Nov1917 and then revert to RN 03Apr1921; awarded LS&GC Medal 07Feb1921.
