FAUSTINA JUNIOR, wife of Marcus Aurelius, (d.A.D. 175), AE sestertius, issued 154-6, (10.53 g), obv. FAVSTINA AVG PII AVG FIL, draped bust to right, rev. VENVS, Venus standing to left, holding apple and rudder, round which dolphin is coiled, (S.4735 [This Coin illustrated], RIC 1408, C.253). Large flan, dark tone, extremely fine and rare in this condition.

Probably the finest known example. This coin illustrated in Sear 'Roman Coins and Their Values II p, 286.
