VALENTINIAN I (A.D. 364-375), gold solidus, Nicomedia mint, 10th officina, issued 364, (4.05 g), obv. pearl-diademed draped and cuirassed bust to right of Valentinian I around DN VALENTINI ANVS PF AVG, rev. Valentinian standing facing head to right, holding standard with Victory, RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE around, SMN I in exergue, (S.19261, RIC 2b 3, Depeyrot 10/1). Surface scratches, fine and scarce.
