CARIA, Carian Islands, Rhodes, (c.265-250 B.C.), silver didrachm, (6.57 g), obv. head of Helios three-quarter face to right with hair loose, rev. rose with bud to right, below P O, above **ANTIPATR[OS]* to left. ear of corn, (S.5040 var., BMC 43 [p.234], SNG Finland 452 [similar dies], Ashton Series 3, [RN1988 p.79 for chronology] 98), SNG Cop.736, SNG Fitz 4797, SNG Berry 1122). Toned, nearly extremely fine and rare.
Ex Spink America Auction, New York, December 6-7, 1999 (lot 679), coming from a private collection formed by a pair of Polish brothers and sold in New York. 
A rare series that now introduces the Magistrate's name, ear of corn to left as a second symbol.
