AXUM, (Ethiopia) Ebana, (c.450 A.D.), gold third solidus, 18mm, (1.59 g), obv. crowned and draped bust right, holding branch, framed by grain ears, rev. draped bust right, wearing headcloth, holding branch, framed by two grain ears, legend around, (Munro-Hay Type 71, BMC Aksum 304). Good very fine, rare.
