IRELAND, (Tipperary Grammar School), 1891, school medal in silver (44mm), obverse, helmeted head of Minerva left with legend at top, 'Ingenio Virtute Labore' (By Talent, Virtue, Toil), inscribed around the bottom, 'Tipperary Grammar School.Richard H.Flynn.Esq L.L.D. Headmaster', reverse, a shield with anchor behind and bearing the arms of Erasmus Smith all within an open wreath of palm leaves, legend at top, 'Munificentia Erasmi Smith' (Of the Liberality of Erasmus Smith), inscribed around the bottom, 'James Dee. Head Of III. Form 1891.' Nicely toned, a few hairlines, otherwise nearly uncirculated.

Tipperary Grammar School is now The Abbey School at Station Road, Tipperary.
