PAIR: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 6979 Pte. F.Jenkins. 13-Hrs. Both medals impressed. Display mounted, second medal ribbon damaged, otherwise good very fine.
Frederick Jenkins and his twin sister Beatrice were born in 1886 at Aston, Warwickshire, England; joined 13th Hussars in 1910; posted to Meerut, India in 1911; to France with 13th Hussars and his unit formed part of 7th Meerut Cavalry Brigade, 2nd Indian Cavalry Division that fought on the Western Front; Frederick was wounded and subsequently discharged 21May1916; DOW (either 11Jun or 02Aug1916, conflicting information) at Coventry, Warwickshire, England at the age of 30.
