GROUP OF FIVE: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; War Medal 1939-45; Corps of Commissionaires Medal in bronze with Award of Merit suspender and 'Army/Navy/Air Force' emblem; another identical but in silver and with 25 Years clasp instead of combined services emblem. 24542 Pte H.Williams. 3 D.A.C. A.I.F. on first medal, 24542 Gnr. H.Williams 3 D.A.C. A.I.F. on second medal, V81415 H.Williams on third medal, No 96 H.Williams 24-5-58 on fourth medal, No 96 H.Williams 24.5.63 on last medal. The first three medals impressed, the last two engraved. Swing mounted, contact marks on first three medals, otherwise very fine.

Note: Initially not entitled to Australia Service Medal 1939-45 but after the conditions of service were revised in 1995, H. Williams would be entitled to this medal. It appears not to have been applied for.

Together with Farrier/Shoeing Smith brass arm badge; steel bracelet fitted with oval brass disc impressed, 'SS.H.Williams/24542/3rd.D.A.C/AFA. C of Eng'; Returned from Active Service badge (AIF); Returned Sailors & Soldiers Imperial League, Australia badge (2 figure type); riband trio as per medal group; 96 voided badge being H.Williams' Corps of Commissionaires' number; riband for two Corps of Commissionaires' medals with two silver coloured rosettes on last riband.

Note: The Corps of Commissionaires in Australia was formed in 1946 as an independent organisation to employ or place ex servicemen or women. It was based along the same guidelines as the Corps established in UK in 1859.
