OBE GROUP OF FIVE: Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (type 2) (OBE-Military); Reserve Force Decoration with clasp for additional five years service; Jubilee Medal (EIIR) 1977; Efficiency Decoration (EIIR) with Bar for second award, with Australia suspender; Cadet Forces Medal (EIIR Dei Gratia). First and third medals unnamed as issued, 410632 Stanley R.J. on second medal, 410632 Maj. R.J.Stanley on fourth medal, Capt (A/Maj.) R.J.Stanley on last medal. The second medal pantographed, the last two medals engraved. Court mounted, most gilt worn off the obverse of the first medal, otherwise very fine - extremely fine.

Entitled to a Member of the Order of Australia (AM), awarded 14 Jun 2004 in the Queen's Birthday Honours List, Citation: For service to the Reserve Forces, particularly through the Defence Reserve Support Council, and to science education as a teacher and author of chemistry textbooks for senior secondary students.

Colonel Raymond John Stanley AM, OBE, RFD, ED died on 25 April 2021 aged 92. He was the Commanding Officer of the South Australia Mounted Rifles 1965-1967 and Honorary Colonel of the regiment 1983-1988. Colonel Stanley was also the former Deputy Headmaster of St Peter's College, Adelaide, South Australia. He had been appointed Head of Chemistry in 1960 and over the ensuing years his roles included Officer Commanding Cadet Unit, Master-in-Charge of swimming, Head of Hawkes House and then Deputy Headmaster. He was given a tribute farewell by his family, friends and the St Peter's community at a special service at the college Memorial Hall on Saturday 8 May 1921.
