ITALY, Lucania, Thurium (Thourioi), (c.400-350 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.56 g), obv. head of Athena to right wearing crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with figure of Scylla pointing, rev. bull butting to right, **QOURIWN, tunny fish below in exergue, with exergual line, (cf.S.442, HN Italy 1802, SNG ANS 1002 [same obv. die]). Toned, good very fine, well centred of fine style, scarce type.

Ex CNG eSale 91, September 19, 2012 (lot 54), coming from a Continental Collection, acquired in 1979, lot includes an old Munzen und Medaillen AG stock ticket dated 29 December 1961, and a previous collectors ticket.
