THESSALY, Thessalian League, (c.196-mid 1st century B.C.), silver drachm, (3.60 g), Larissa mint, obv. head of Apollo to right, laureate, behind HP monogram, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSA LWN*, either side of Athena **P I*, (cf.S.2234, BCD 889.3, BMC 39, SNG Ash 3814). Toned, very fine, surface flaws on reverse, rare.
