INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION VICTORIA, 1873, prize medal in silver (47mm) by J.Hogarth and Stokes & Martin, edge impressed 'Jos.Porta, Bellows'. Good very fine.

Joseph Porta established the first industrial bellows making business in Little Lonsdale St, Melbourne, in 1868. The business has remained in family hands and today trades as 'Porta'.
