ROYAL HUMANE SOCIETY OF AUSTRALASIA, bronze medal with ribbon and brooch buckle bar, reverse inscribed, 'Ernest Nunn/4th. February/1893', in original case of issue but with leather covering removed. Toned extremely fine.

At the monthly meeting of the Royal Humane Society of Australasia held on Wednesday 17 May 1893 it was decided to award bronze medals to John Francis Flewell Smith, Malcolm Flewell Smith, Ernest Nunn, and William Russell, of Lowood, Queensland, farmers, who rescued Captain Robert Vernor and his family (eight persons in all) from drowning in the highest flood of the Brisbane River on the 4th February, 1893.
