SOLD $15,000

1831 PROOF HALF SOVEREIGN, William IV, 1830-37. S-3830, W&R 267 (R3) 3.97g. Obverse - the legend reveals a misplaced double entry for the first I in IIII. This flaw is also observed in the Maundy 4d obverse, confirming a die linkage (same master tool) between the two coins. Reverse - as for one sovereign in reduced scale. Only one or two hairlines, full cameo proof FDC and very rare.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
