MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip III Arrhidaios, (323-317 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.11 g), Sardes mint, issued 323-322 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, EY monogram in left field, torch below throne, **FILIPPOU* to right, (cf.S.6730, Price 2600, BMC -, ADM I Series XIII, 194a). Toned, very fine, rare.
