GROUP OF FOUR: 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. Q36652 A.W.Fraser. The first two medals engraved, the last two impressed. Some spotting, otherwise extremely fine.
Note: A.W.Fraser's medals were reported stolen when he was in hospital in 2001 and replacements were issued to him.
Alexander William Fraser, butcher, age 23, born at Rockhampton, Qld; Enl.23Aug1940 in 42Bn at Gladstone, Qld; to A/Cpl 22Jun1941; called up for service and TOS 42Bn 20Sep1941; to L/Sgt 09Jan1942; to Sgt 02Feb1942; Emb.09Jan1943; Disemb.12Jan1943 at Milne Bay; to S/Sgt 14Feb1943; RTA 28May1944; to hospital with malaria 06Aug1944; Disch.08Mar1945.
