MACEDON, Kingdom of Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.38 g), Amphipolis mint, issued under Philip II, c.336-333/326 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to right, dotted border, rev. naked youth or small man, on horseback to right, holding palm and reins, bee below horse's belly and a janiform head below raised foreleg, around **FILIP POU*, (cf.S.6683, Le Rider 450-452 variety obv.225, rev. new; SNG ANS 554-5 same obverse die. Bright, flan flaw on obverse on cheek, otherwise good very fine, the reverse symbols are a very rare combination of symbols.
