GREAT BRITAIN, 65th (2nd Yorkshire, North Riding) Regiment of Foot, 1830-55, officer's shoulder belt plate in gilt and white metal. Hairlines on gilt back plate, otherwise very fine.

Detachments of the 65th moved to Australia between 1846 and 1849. The unit was first stationed at Hobart but was later posted to New Zealand. After 1 January 1847 a token force consisting of two officers and thirty two other ranks remained in Australia.
