SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued A.D. 231, Rome Mint, (3.46 g), obv. laureate head to right, around IMP SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. IOVI STATORI around, Jupiter standing left, head right, holding thunderbolt and sceptre, (S.7872, RIC 202, RSC 92, BMC 697). Toned, with attractive golden highlights, good extremely fine, rare as such.
