CLAUDIUS, (A.D. 41-54), AE as, Rome mint but possibly a contemporary Spanish mint copy, issued A.D. 41-42, (9.225 grams), obv. bare head to left, around TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP, rev. CONSTANTIAE AVGVSTI around, Constantia helmeted to left, right hand raised and holding sceptre in left hand, SC across field, (S.1857, RIC 95, BMC 140, C.14). Attractive brown patination, good very fine and rare in this condition.
