TRIO TO LIGHT HORSE WIA AT GALLIPOLI: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 763 Pte H.W.Corrick. 7/L.H.Rgt. A.I.F. on first two medals, 763 Pte H.W.Corrick 7.L.H.R. A.I.F. on last medal. All medals impressed. Dark toned very fine.

Together with 7 Light Horse Regiment, 1912-18, unofficial hat/shoulder badges (2, one in white metal and one in oxidised brass) (31.5mm) (Cossum 176).^^Harry William Corrick, labourer, age 22, born at Annandale, Sydney, NSW; Enl.30Nov1914 at Holsworthy, Sydney, NSW; posted as Trooper 3 Rfts 7LHR 30Nov1914; Emb.08Feb1915; to Gallipoli 15Jun1915; WIA 28Jun1915, GSW at Gallipoli when machine gun bullet cut off 2nd-4th fingers of right hand; to hospital ship and then hospital 28Jun-14Aug1915; RTA 15Aug1915; Disch.15Dec1915.^^Trooper Harry Corrick was the first soldier to return to the town of Warren in NSW from the Dardenelles on Friday 24 September 1915. He was incapacitated by wounds received in the war. Business was suspended for an hour and three hundred people assembled at the railway station and gave him a whole-hearted welcome. In February 1916 he was appointed recruiting sergeant to work under the direction of the Warren War Service Committee.
