All medals impressed.; (Brother 2), Pair: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 3827 Pte H. McBeath 10 Bn. A.I.F. Both medals impressed. The first group display mounted, toned good very fine, the second group court mounted, toned very fine.
(Brother 1): Robert Donald McBeath, telegraphist, age 23, born at Rosewater, Sth Aust; Enl.04Aug1915 at Adelaide, Sth Aust in 12RFTS for 10Bn, with previous service in Cadets in Adelaide; Emb.02Dec1915; to France 29Mar1916; TOS 10Bn 12Jun1916; KIA 23Aug1916, at Pozieres, Somme Sector, France, shot by a sniper while acting as a stretcher-bearer carrying wounded officers; commemorated at Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, ACT and also at the Kingston and District Memorial in South Australia. ^^(Brother 2): Hugh McBeath, clerk, age 20, born at Adelaide, Sth Aust; Enl.14Sep1915 at Adelaide, Sth Aust in 12RFTS for 10Bn, with previous service in Citizen Forces; Emb.02Dec1915; TOS 10Bn 01Nov1915; to France 29Mar1916; cut foot and to hospital 09Aug1916; discharged from hospital 06Sep1916; in and out of hospital with bronchitis and then pleurisy 02Feb to 06Aug1917; RTA 27Aug1917; Disch.26Nov1917 Medically Unfit.
