CAFLSM: CG No.176 30/11/1916, page 3254 to 1149 Sgt G.Hastwell 41st (Blue Mountains) Inf, 2nd Military District.^^Sergeant G.Hastwell, along with a few other men, was presented with his long service medal on 25 March 1918 by His Excellency the Governor-General, Sir Ronald Munro Ferguson, after an inspection at Moorebank parade ground of the 11th Brigade, consisting of the 41st and 42nd Infantry Battalion and the Sydney University Scouts.
