LUCIUS VERUS, (A.D. 161-169), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 161, (21.82 grams), obv. bare headed bust of Lucius Verus, draped and cuirassed to right, around IMP CAES L AVREL VERVS AVG, rev. around CONCORD AVGVSTOR TR P COS II, SC in exergue, Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus both standing facing each other with clasped hands, (S.1546, RIC 1282, C.27). Striking edge crack, otherwise very fine and very scarce.

Ex Cornelius C. Vermeule III Collection, sold in Triton III (lot 1712 part) for the benefit of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, with his ticket.
