SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 207, (3.354 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around P M TR P XV COS III P P, Africa standing to right, holding out fold, lion at feet, (S.6341, RIC 207, RSC 493). Good very fine and scarce.

Issued to commemorate the victories over the native tribes in North Africa in 207.
