IONIA, Phocaia, c.350-340 B.C. electrum hekte or sixth stater, (2.522 grams) obv. female head (Demeter) to left, with corn wreath, hair in saccos, rev. quadripartite incuse square, the surface of each square slopes downwards, (cf.S.4531 [£500], Bodenstedt 102 (dies b/**A*), BMC 63-65, SNG Von aulock 2126, SNG Cop. 1027). Slightly off centred on the obverse, otherwise very fine and rare.
