MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), AE 17.5, (6.602 grams), Macedonian mint, issued 336-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. below a club and bunch of grapes, **ALEXANDROU* between, bow and bowcase above, **D* above, (cf.S.6739, Price 283, BMC 283a-d). Attractive dark green and black patination, good very fine/nearly extremely fine and rare in this condition.
