ITALY, Lucania, Thurium (Thourioi), (350-300 B.C.), silver stater, (7.60 g), obv. head of Athena to right wearing crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with figure of Scylla, rev. bull butting to right, **UOURIWN* and **D above, dolphin below base line in the exergue, (cf.S.447; SNG ANS 1046-7 [similar dies], SNG Cop.-, BMC -). Nearly extremely fine and very rare.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 103 (lot 3433), previously from the Alan Jordan Collection and he purchased it from Noble Numismatics Sale 73 (lot 3203).
Unusual with dolphin in exergue and very rare letter **D* above.
