MIDLAND C.C. (Cricket Club), fob medal, handcrafted in gold (18ct, 10.5g, 33x27mm), by J.K. (James King, Wellington), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'Trophy/Presented by/W.E.Woods,/"The-Co-operative Drug Store"/Won By/E.Fitzsimons./Best/Allround Man/Midland C.C./91-92.'. Very fine.

The following courtesy of National Library of New Zealand - Papers Past - from the Evening Post, Monday 8 August 1892:

"The trophies presented to the Midland Cricket Club last season have been awarded as follows: - First Eleven - Best batting average, Mr.A.Blacklock, Dr. Newman's trophy; best bowling average, Mr.E.F.Upham, Dr. Newman's trophy; most catches, Mr.E.Fitzsimons, Mr. J.Nathan's trophy; best all-round player, Mr.E.Fitzsimons, Mr. Wood's Co-operative medal; highest aggregate, Mr. A.Blacklock, Stewart and Co.'s trophy. Second Eleven - Best batting average, Mr. G.Pram, Mr. Salmon's bat: best bowling average, Mr. A.C.Taylor, Dr. Newman's trophy; most catches, Mr. H.Taylor, Mr. Bock's trophy: highest individual score, Mr. A.Smith, Mr. J.Young's trophy; best bowling average in first and second elevens, Mr. A.C.Taylor, The Beehive trophy. Third Eleven - Best batting average, Mr. W.Britland, Messrs. G. and T. Young's trophy; best bowling average, Mr. W.Thawley, Mr. J.Danks' trophy; most catches, Messrs. P.Salmon and J.Edwards (tie), Mr. A.Lindsay's trophy. The gold medal given by Mr. W.E.Woods, Cuba-street, is in the form of a Maltese cross, and bears the following inscription: - 'Presented by W.E.Woods, Co-operative Drug Store. Won by E.Fitzsimons. Best all-round man. Midland C.C' The trophy is very handsome, and cost ?5 5s".
