HIGHLAND PIPE BANDS, a group of prize medals awarded to Frank MacKinnon QSM between 1946 and 1982, includes gold (9ct, tot wt approx 35.0g) (4), silver gilt (13, one illustrated), silver (15, one illustrated) and base metals (4), noted: Waipu Caledonian Society, Centennial Gold Medal, 1971 in gold (35x32mm) [illustrated], also, 'Comunn na Piobaireachd New Zealand Inc', medal in gold (35mm), depicting a pipe player in traditional dress and awarded to F.MacKinnon in 1983 [illustrated].
