LADY BLEDISLOE, card (127x105mm) titled 'From Her Excellency Lady Bledisloe, Government House, Wellington, N.Z.', hand written 'James Mitchell, a small appreciation of faithful service from The Governor General and Lady Bledisloe, March 1935'; also a Government House typed menu card (152x98mm) and dated 14.2.33. Lady Bledisloe was The Hon Bertha Susan Lopes, daughter of Henry Charles Lopes, 1st Baron Ludlow by Cordelia Clark. She married Charles Bathurst, 1st Viscount Bledisloe GCMG KBE PC (21 September 1867 - 3 July 1958), a British Conservative poltician and colonial governor. They were Governors of New Zealand from 1930 to 1935.
