MAUNGATUROTO, handcrafted in gold (9ct, 11.9g, 48x34mm), unidentified maker, scroll and ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'Returned Soldier/1917', reverse inscribed 'Presented To/Lieut D.A.Finlayson/By/Maungaturoto Residents/As A Recognition/Of His Services At The Front'. Very fine.

13/875 Lieut Donald Alexander Finlayson, 4th Reinforcements, Auckland Mounted Rifles, embarked from New Zealand 17 April 1915.
