BURMA, Pyu Coinage, Srikshetra, Period of the Funan monarchy, type I (shell in temple), (A.D. 600-700), silver units (2), (9.22, 10.11 g [illustrated]), obv. stylised Funan throne symbol (Damaru) etc small ornaments above, all within a circle of dots, with additional line border, rev. Crude temple with symbols (sankh shell) within, dots below, (cf.Mitchiner SEA 410-415, 418-420); another a fractional quarter unit (20 ratis), (1.99 g), obv. rising sun, rev. stylised temple with central dot, (Mitchiner SEA 341), with two holes; together with a AE paisa of Sultan of Delhi, probably Islam Shah. Silver unevenly toned, porous surface, otherwise fine, copper fine, scarce. (4)
