PAIR TO CHAPLAIN: Defence Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. M W Roberts RAAF. Both medals appear to be impressed. Ribbons damaged, medals heavily toned with black spotting, otherwise very fine.
Mervyn Woodcraft Roberts, minister of religion, age 31, born at Sandgate, Qld; Enl.13Jul1942 as Airman at No.1 Recruiting Centre, Melbourne, Vic, with 3 years Universal Training and with good knowledge of French, Latin, Greek and Hebrew and also St John's First Aid Certificate; Disch.15Aug1942 as Airman; Appt'd commission on probation with rank of Plt Off 15Aug1942; relinquished commission 14Oct1942 on being appt'd Chaplain 4th Class; Appt'd Flt Lieut and Chaplain 4th Class 15Oct1942; various postings throughout Australia; Termination of Appointment 18Oct1945 on demobilisation.
