THESSALY, Larissa, (405/0-370 B.C.), silver drachm, (6.07 g), obv. facing head of nymph Larissa three-quarter to left, hair in ampyx [inscribed [**GEU*] border of dots, rev. horse standing to right, preparing to lie down, below horse **LI* and below ground line **LARISAI*, (cf.S.2120, BCD Thessaly II 205 [same dies], Lorber 'Early Facing Heads Drachms..' Florilegium Numismaticum, 1992', Group 2, head type 14, dies obv. 32, rev.1, HGC 4, 434). Very fine, struck on an irregular flan, rare.

Ex CNG eSale 416 March 18, 2018 (lot 123) previously from the BCD Collection, acquired October 1988 for $400US, with his photos and CNG and his ticket.
