PELOPONNESOS, Achaean League, (c.160-150 B.C.), silver hemidrachm, (1.67 g), Sparta mint, obv. Zeus head laureate right, dotted border, rev, wreath with XA monogram within, monograms above and below, caps of the Dioskouroi on either side, (cf.S.2987, Clerk 315, BMC 85-86, SNG Cop.319). Bright off centred, good very fine and rare.

Ex Noble Numismatics stock with very detailed ticket, previously from Spink & Son, London, 21 December 1993.
