L. ROSCIUS FABATUS, (64 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome Mint, (3.92 g), obv. head of Juno Sospita to right, wearing goat's skin tied under the chin, below L. ROSCI, on left stool, rev. female figure standing to right, and feeding from her dress a serpent, erect before her, behind a kylix, in exergue FABATI, serrated edge, (S.363, C.412/1, Syd 915, BMC 3395, RSC Roscia 3). Attractively toned, area of flat striking on head otherwise extremely fine and very scarce.
