C. VIBIUS VARUS, (42 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome Mint, (3.95 g), obv. head of Bacchus, wearing wreath of ivy and grapes to right, dotted border, rev. C. VIBIVS in exergue VA[RVS] to right, Panther leaping to left towards altar with mask and thyrsus, (S.496, Cr.494/36, Syd.1138, B.Vibia 24). Attractive grey patina, nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
