NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE semis, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 64, (3.72 g), obv. laureate head of Nero to right, around NERO CAESAR AVG IMP, rev. S C in exergue, around CER QVINQ ROM CO, mark of value S above table bearing urn and wreath, facing griffins in panels below, round shield resting against leg, (S.1979, RIC 247, BMC 275). Attractive brown toning, mild surface pitting, good very fine and scarce.
