ELAGABALUS, (218-222), silver denarius, 20 mm, (2.12 g), Antioch mint, issued 218-219, obv. ANTONINVS PIVS FEL AVG laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Elagabalus to right, seen from behind, rev. FELICITAS / TEMP Galley to right over waves, with steerman, seven rowers and vexillum amidships; at stern, acrostolium, at prow, mast slanted forward, (S.7510, BMC 277, RSC 27a. RIC 188). Lightly patinated (slightly porous), nearly extremely fine and rare.

Ex CNG private purchase with ticket c.2000.
