INDIA AND OTHERS, an important collection of temple tokens, medals and amulets mostly of the Jain, Sikh, Islam and Thai types etc all housed in a dark olive green coin album described throughout; temple token lots include Siva type of ascetic type (modern type in silver see illustration), Buddist hell type; assorted temple tokens portraying various Hindu and other gods including Zoroastrian etc, some in silver, noted Jain sect issues featuring various gods and leaders (illustration of Guru Nanak, Sikh religion founder) up to modern times; noted Buddist types from China and Thailand; India temple tokens based on Akbar square rupees (12, Brotman type I etc, 988 type illustrated); round types based on Delhi Sultan Sher Shah (6, one illustrated) and colonnade mosque types, Brotman Type T of various sizes (29, one illustrated with ring mount for wearing). Fine - uncirculated, several rare. (155)

The Indian Temple tokens are token coins popular at temple and pilgrimage sites in India. They are also known as Rama-tankas ("Rama coins"), as several of them feature the Hindu deity Rama.
The Colonnade mosque series of Indian Islamic temple tokens were struck in and around Calcutta and Bombay (Mumbai) from the mid 19th century until the 1940s
