Robert Black; unsuccessful volunteer for 1885 Sudan contingent; Enlisted in NSW Military Forces and to 1st Infy Regt at Moore Park, Sydney, NSW; noted as lead scorer in rifle kneeling shooting position competition at 200 and 300 yards range 11Aug1899; presented with above Long Service Medal at Victoria Barracks, Sydney 19Oct1901; noted in Oct1904 with A Coy Rifle Shoot for Governor's Cup at Randwick Range; noted as Regt Sgt Maj 1Infy Regt 01Jul1906; no complete service dossier is known to exist.
