ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (c.302-280 B.C.), silver nomos or didrachm, (7.79 g), obv. nude horseman on horse galloping right, **NIKODAMOS* below, rev. Taras astride dolphin left, holding kantharos and distaff, [T]A**R*AS to left, IO**R* and gazelle below, (cf.S.365, Vlasto 704, SNG ANS 1079). Lightly toned, some die rust, good very fine and scarce.
