PERKIN WARBECK, Period of Henry VII (1485-1509), electro copy of silver groat, the original an issue dated 1494, produced in Flanders for the planned invasion by Warbeck in 1495, mm lion, (Sutherland, 'English Coinage 600-1900' Pl.62, 440 [p.121]). Very fine.

This is a copy of the example illustrated in the BNJ XXIX [p.215] from the British Museum Collection. Blunt in discussing this item regards it as a medallic jetton. Although anonymous they generally have been accepted as being associated with Perkin Warbeck on account of the date they bear 1494. The arms on the obverse are similar to the arms of Warbeck as described in Gairdner'book on Richard III [p.290] and as a consequence this issue is linked to Warbeck. Ten original examples are known amd all come from the same pair of dies.
