PROPOSED ROYAL VISIT, 1949, set of twelve tin badges (28mm), issued for the proposed tour that never eventuated, each one featuring a different theme, with a red, white and blue ribbon attached, with stick pin. Nearly uncirculated and rare as a set. (12)

^The proposed 1949 Royal Visit to New Zealand was to be the first time that a reigning monarch had set foot in New Zealand. Unfortunately the tour was cancelled due to the King's ill health but by that time many souvenirs had already been produced.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
