NEW ZEALAND MEDAL 1869, undated reverse. G.Slater, Commisst. Dept, impressed and additionally engraved in similar style, Captain 1st W.R.M.S. Suspension detached at swivel pin and edge nick, otherwise very fine.

Ex The American Numismatic Society Collection from the J.Coolidge Hills Collection with ticket, Morton & Eden Sale 25-26 October 2006 Part 2 (lot 759).^^In a newspaper report in August 1866, following a house fire, it stated that the resident of the home in Parnell was George Slater, a clerk with the Commissariat Department.
