SUTHERLANDS, rolled gold sovereign case (30.5x14mm), by Dennison Watch Case Co (Birmingham), ring top suspension, inscribed on lid 'To/Cpl W.F.White/on his return/from the War', and on the reverse 'from/Sutherlands/Friends/1919'. Some handling marks, otherwise very fine.
78604 Pte William Frederick White, 40th Reinforcements, A Company, NZEF, embarked from New Zealand 10 July 1918. William White also served in WWII. He is commemorated at the Sutherlands War Memorial, near Pleasant Point, South Canterbury, New Zealand.
