WINSLOW, handcrafted in gold (9ct, 8.93g, 36x36mm), no maker, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'GB', reverse inscribed 'Presented/to/G.Body/By Residents of/Winslow/13/9/16'. Very fine.

A farewell social and presentation to Privates W.McGee, J.McGee, E.Moore, and G.Body was given in the Winslow School on Wednesday September 13, 1916. ^^48160 Pte George (enlisted under his brother's name of Frank) Body, 25th Reinforcements, Wellington Infantry Regiment, B Company, NZEF, embarked from New Zealand 26 April 1917. KIA 27 March 1918, France, buried at Euston Road Cemetery, Colincamps, France and commemorated on Ashburton Memorial, NZ.^^See lot E6585 for music award to same family.
